The Executive head is Warren Shadbolt.

Safer Neighbourhood and Safer Parks Team

Safer Neighbourhood Teams

Sutton's Safer Neighbourhoods Teams (SNTs) are dedicated ward-based police teams. There is one SNT for each of the 18 wards in the borough. Each team is lead by a Police Sergeant and supported by 2 Police Constables and 3 Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs). There are more than 100 SNT officers across the borough concentrating on neighbourhood policing.

The SNTs work with communities to tackle issues of concern identified by local people, residents and businesses. They work closely with Sutton Council, other statutory partners and local voluntary groups to provide sustainable long-term solutions through effective problem solving.

In order to be effective the teams need to know what's happening in your neighbourhood that is of concern to you or your family. Each team undertake monthly engagement on their wards and we would encourage you to attend an event and let us know if you have any concerns. We really want to know what is happening and respond to your concerns. Alternatively get in contact with your team and they will get back to you as soon as they are able.

  Safer Parks Teams

Sutton has two, well-equipped Safer Parks Teams. They are funded by Sutton Council and staffed by Metropolitan Police officers. The teams patrol the Boroughs parks and open spaces and have two Metropolitan Police equipped 4X4 Shogun's to ensure they can reach any area of the Borough quickly and safely. Each team has access to night vision and thermal imaging equipment, which help officers to 'see in the dark'. The equipment is especially useful during the winter months when the evenings get dark quickly. However, to ensure they patrol the right parks at the right times we need to know your concerns. Please either contact your local SNT or the Parks Team, who work seven days a week directly on

  Tel    020 8721 2268

Anyone witnessing a crime, or a situation where somebody is in immediate danger , should dial 999 Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on  0800 555 111

Anti-Social Behaviour Unit

As part of Sutton's continued efforts to tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB), a special unit funded by Sutton Council co-ordinates ASB interventions including Anti-Social Behaviour Orders (ASBOs) where appropriate. Police and Council teams can visit communities; take statements and provide a service to police and partners to take action.

The support of communities is needed in gathering information about ASB. To report an incident of ASB:

  • In an emergency call 999
  • In a non-emergency situation, but requiring police attention, call Sutton Borough Police on  0300 123 1212 (ask for Sutton)
  • Contact your local Safer Neighbourhoods Team.
