Safer Sutton Partnership

The Safer Sutton Partnership Service is a unique partnership between the London Borough of Sutton and the Metropolitan Police Service, bringing together police and local authority staff within a single structure. It is headed by Superintendent Warren Shadbolt. Our aim is to make Sutton the safest borough in London , by providing exceptional services within the field of community safety and tackling drugs or alcohol abuse.

Safer Parks Teams

There are two dedicated Safer Parks Teams covering Sutton's parks and open spaces. The teams work closely with Safer Neighbourhoods Teams and their Ward Panels, as well as with Neighbourhood Wardens and officers from Sutton Council. They also work in partnership with operational policing units giving effective 24-hour police cover for all parks and open spaces.
The Safer Parks Teams are having a big impact on tackling crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour and we want residents to help us keep Sutton's parks and open spaces safe places for us all to enjoy.

Safer Neighbourhoods
Safer Neighbourhoods is about local policing; police and partners working with you, to identify and tackle issues of concern in your neighbourhood. Each team is normally made up of six police and Police Community Support Officers Their aim is to listen and talk to you, and find out what affects your daily life and feelings of security. These might be issues such as anti-social behaviour, graffiti, noisy neighbourhoods, yobs or vandalism. Then, they work in partnership with you and other agencies to find a lasting solution.
Safer Neighbourhoods teams are dedicated to your community and are additional to other policing teams and units in London . . If you have concerns about day-to-day crime and disorder issues, or if you would like to get involved, please contact your local team.

Sutton Neighbourhood Warden Service
The Neighbourhood Warden Service was launched in Sutton in July 2001. There are currently 10 wardens patrolling the Wandle Valley , The Wrythe, St Helier council wards, they also patrol hotspot areas in the Sutton Central, Wallington North, Wallington South and Carshalton Central wards. They provide a high profile uniformed presence patrolling on foot or bicycle. They act as the "eyes and ears " of the community, working in partnership with statutory agencies such as the police, fire service, local voluntary and community organisations, registered social landlords and all council groups. Their role is to engage with youth acting anti-socially, report all environmental concerns and actively involve the community and promote social inclusion

Neighbourhood Watch
This association was created in November 2000. The purpose of our group is to help set up new Neighbourhood Watches (NHW) and help people to develop the existing watches within our borough 'To help make Sutton a safer borough'.
